The Black Hole – Redwood City, CA – Late 80’s

In the late 80’s, graffiti art was at an all time high in the Bay Area. I was just a teenager learning the ropes and having fun with my new found hobby. There was an abandoned sanitation plant on the East Side of Redwood City that had been untouched by any paint up until this point. Me and another friend, who will remain nameless, snuck into this sanitation plant and found the cavas of our dreams. It was a cylindrical container open to the sky and painted black. And that’s where it got its name. The Black Hole. Enjoy these pics. This place has been gone for over 20 years and the Redwood City Police Station now sits on this site. Go figure.
